Includes a number of articles by Aidan Nichols which are otherwise difficult to obtain. This site is particularly recommended because of its close links with our own. The Caroline Chisholm Library
The Caroline Chisholm Library is a theological lending and reference library with its main branch situated in the central business district of Melbourne. Its two branches between them contain over 26,000 volumes of Catholic and Christian literature, specialising in Church History, Hibernica, patristics, hagiography, spirituality and mysticism. There are substantial volumes of works by John Henry Newman, Thomas Aquinas, G.K.Chesterton, Jacques Maritain and Etienne Gilson, among others. There are also substantial holdings on the subject of prayer and our selection of Carmelita is extensive. The library also subscribes to a wide range of Catholic and other Christian periodicals. In addition, each branch hosts its own series of lectures, generally on topics related to the collection in some way.

Catholic Marriage Centre
This Centre is a Christian residential Centre, open to Christian couples of all denominations, who are seeking wholeness in their marriage through teaching, counselling and healing prayer. Catholic Studies Program (The University of St. Thomas)

Center for Catholic Studies (Seton Hall University)
The Center for Catholic Studies at Seton Hall University is dedicated to dialogue between the Catholic tradition and all areas of contemporary culture. Besides running programs and seminars on faith and culture for faculty, students and the wider public, it also includes the Seton Hall Institute on Work which seeks to study and to positively influence efforts to humanize the worlds of economics and work. The Center for Religious Humanism
The Center for Religious Humanism is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a deeper engagement between faith and culture. International Centre of Newman Friends
The International Centre of Newman Friends was founded in 1975 by The Spiritual Family The Work and is present in Italy (Rome), England (Littlemore, Oxford), Austria (Bregenz) and Hungary (Budapest). It seeks to make the life, spirituality and thought of John Henry Cardinal Newman known, to promote the study and veneration of Newman as a shining example for Christian life, scholarship and holiness. It offers centres of authentic faith, with a special ecumenical commitment inspired by Newman and by the Second Vatican Council.

The International Institute for Culture
The International Institute for Culture is a non-profit educational and research center which seeks to promote international understanding through cultural means. Started in 1989 in response to the Holy Father's call for the re-evangelization of culture, the International Institute for Culture (IIC) is engaged in international conferences, language and cultural programs, lectures series, educational seminars, art exhibits and musical performances which reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Catholic Church and which may serve to bring people to the Person of Jesus Christ.

The International Theological Institute
The International Theological Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family, established by the will of Pope John Paul II, is a Papal Institute for the study of Catholic theology as a unified whole. Within that whole, particular attention is devoted to the theme of marriage and the family. The ITI operates a joint programme with the Centre for Faith & Culture in Oxford.

The John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family
The John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family opened in July 2001 under the auspices of the Melbourne Archdiocese. The Minister for Education and Training (Victoria) recently accredited the Institute as a higher education provider authorized to conduct its several graduate diploma and degree courses. The Institute works in close collaboration with the worldwide Pontifical Institute and hopes soon to be fully integrated into it as a 'session'. From its inception it has also enjoyed a collaborative arrangement with the University of Notre Dame, Perth.

The John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family
A longtime philosopher-friend of Karol Wojtyla once said that Wojtyla had always been occupied with understanding the human person in terms of love. The mission of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute, in a profound sense, begins here, in this abiding conviction of the Holy Father that love reveals the meaning of the person and, through the person, of all 'flesh' the whole of creation (cf. Familiaris consortio, 11; Redemptor hominis, 10; Dominum et vivificantem, 50).

The Linacre Centre
The Linacre Centre exists to promote understanding of Catholic teaching on abortion, assisted conception, advance directives, contraception, euthanasia, genetic engineering and other issues in biomedical ethics. Much of the Church's teaching on these topics coincides with what was once widely recognised as the tradition of common morality which is the moral basis of just legislation and the fundamental ethical framework for the practice of medicine.

Lumen Christi Insitute
The Lumen Christi Institute promotes intellectual (including scientific) work in so far as this relates to Catholic civilisation.

Maryvale Institute
Maryvale Institute specialises in part-time and distance learning courses in Theology, Religious Education and Catechesis. Focusing especially on adults – teachers, catechists, lay people, religious and clergy – this Institute is the first in the United Kingdom to offer courses in Catholic Theology on the Open University model with short residential schools.

Ogilvie Institute
The Ogilvie Institute is a new foundation of the Catholic Diocese of Aberdeen that will specialise in part-time and distance-learning courses of religious education and formation, catechesis and theology for adults, initially at least in the Diocese of Aberdeen and neighbouring dioceses in Scotland.

The Salesian Centre for Faith & Culture
The interdisciplinary mission of the Salesian Center is to promote the interaction of faith and culture, in a mutually beneficial engagement, through academic initiatives that focus on the authentic integration of social concerns and gospel values, an integration which has been embodied in the lives of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal and continues to be expressed in the tradition of Christian Humanism.

Society of St Catherine of Siena
The Society of St. Catherine of Siena is committed to the renewal of the intellectual apostolate in the Roman Catholic Church and has an association with the English Province of the Order of Preachers.

The Society of Catholic Social Scientists

The Virgil Michel Center
The Virgil Michel Center is a developing project of the Bethlehem Community in North Dakota, inspired by Virgil Michel, Hans Urs von Balthasar, Adrienne von Speyr, and others. Its work is spiritual education, along with liturgical and economic renewal as part of a deep evangelization of culture.

The Chesterton Review
'The quarterly journal of the G. K. Chesterton Institute. It was founded in 1974 to promote a critical interest in all aspects of the life, ideas and influence of G. K. Chesterton. It is published three times a year including a double issue on a special theme. Previous double issues have included: David Jones, C. S. Lewis; Cardinal Manning; George Bernanos; Hilaire Belloc; Maurice Baring; Christopher Dawson; George Grant; Karl Kraus and Aurel Kolnai; The Modernist Crisis; Detective Fiction; Japanese Christian Writers; Ethics and Economics in Post-Communist Europe; South Africa and the Political Imagination.'

Communio
Commmunio is at the centre of theological renewal in 'creative fidelity' to the Church. It stands for the advancement of theology in continuity with Vatican II, for the continuing dialogue of all believers of past and present 'as if all were simultaneously in the circle'. Part of the purpose of Communio has been to try to overcome the polarization between 'modernists' and 'traditionalists' in the Church, by offering a central forum where there may be both reconciliation and creativity. Communio is part of an international family of Catholic theological periodicals spanning twelve languages – making a unique contribution to contemporary theological understanding and inter-communication.'

InatiusInsight.com and the Insight Scoop weblog are online resources of Ignatius Press and are meant to assist readers who wish to learn more about the Catholic Church and her teachings, beliefs, practices, and history.

Caelum et Terra
Website of the sadly defunct journal of the same name which 'created a group of Catholics self-identified as 'Caelum Et Terra' types, who continue the dialogue begun by the editors of the journal. This dialogue goes on in the list created by Catholic Worker Robert Waldrop and in occasional newsletters. ... As most of the discussion goes on these days by word of mouth, we feel it appropriate to title it The Conversation'.

The Chesterton Review:
Edited by Ian Boyd, the Review is devoted to exploring the life and work of one of the twentieth century's most original thinkers – G.K. Chesterton. Past issues have also explored the work of writers like C.S. Lewis, Christopher Dawson, Charles Dickens, and George Grant, who share something of the Chestertonian romance with "orthodoxy." Inside the Vatican
'This is the web site of the world's most well-informed and comprehensive monthly magazine on what is going on 'Inside The Vatican', at the heart of the Roman Catholic Church. Produced by journalists and scholars with many decades of experience reporting from Rome, 'Inside The Vatican' attempts to 'think with the Church' (sentire cum ecclesia) but is not an official Church publication. This magazine is Catholic but editorially independent of any faction or interest group, in or outside of the Church.'

Logos
'Logos: A Journal of Catholic Thought and Culture is an interdisciplinary quarterly committed to exploring the beauty, truth, and vitality of Christianity, particularly as it is rooted in and shaped by Catholicism. We seek a readership that extends beyond the academy, and welcome submissions in literature, philosophy, theology, the natural and social sciences, art, music, public policy, and the professions.'

The New Pantagruel
The New Pantagruel is a quarterly electronic journal run by a cadre of intemperate but friendly Catholics and Protestants who have seen other electronic journals run by Christians, and thought that while they might not be able to do better, they could certainly do no worse. The New Pantagruel does not have a doctrinal statement such as is typical for publications of this sort because its creators haven't managed to agree on one. They do have an idea of what they're about though, and if interested, you can read about it in the introduction to The New Pantagruel.

Oasis
Oasis is the website of the journal founded by Cardinal Angelo Scola, Patriarch of Venice, in association with his Studium Generale Marcianum, whose purpose is partly to meet the cultural thirst of Christians living in Muslim countries, and to favour an organic theological-cultural exchange and communion between Christians and others in Europe and the Middle East, the Far East and Africa. It is hoped that the journal will also help the baptized living in traditionally Christian countries to meet with Muslims and people of other faiths who now live among them in much greater numbers than previously.

Touchstone
Touchstone 'is a Christian journal, conservative in doctrine and eclectic in content, with editors and readers from each of the three great divisions of Christendom-Protestant, Roman Catholic, and Orthodox. The Community of St John
'The members of the Community of Saint John want to live the evangelical counsels rooted in the three covenants revealed in the Gospel of Saint John: The Covenant with Jesus in the Eucharist, the source of unity between silent adoration and the liturgical office. Jewish Roots of Eastern Christian Mysticism
The interdisciplinary seminar on the Jewish Roots of Eastern Christian Mysticism is designed as the internet version of an ongoing research seminar of graduate students at the department of theology of Marquette University (Milwaukee, USA). The seminar is directed by Alexander Golitzin, a professor of eastern Christian theology (Marquette University). The seminar started in March 2002 as an attempt to investigate Jewish mystical traditions in the eastern Christian theological and liturgical texts. It was thought that the seminar would help initiate and inspire the discussion about the Jewish influences on eastern Christian mysticism among a broader audience.
