The Centre for Faith and Culture in Oxford

As Pope John Paul II taught us, faith when lived becomes culture; in fact civilization depends upon this relationship. The Centre for Faith & Culture in Oxford, maintained by the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts in New Hampshire, was originally founded to conduct research into this idea in 1994. Our newsletter Adveniat features organizations and individuals involved in the renewal of culture in the English-speaking world.

Please explore the main menu to the left to find the resources on this site. For example, if you click on Economy you'll be taken to a set of pages devoted to Catholic social teaching, with a special emphasis on the recent revival of interest in the Distributist philosophy of G.K. Chesterton. The Journal link takes you to details of our print journal, Second Spring, published by Thomas More College.

In the Books section you'll find colouring books for children and other titles, including works by ourselves and our associates. Under Articles you'll see a selection of online reading, and at the very bottom of the menu we offer an index of useful Links which many people have said they find helpful (this includes a section on the Inklings). The Blog will keep you up to date.

Our offices are located above the Art Jericho gallery in King Street, Oxford. This is also where we edit the UK edition of the monthly prayerbook, Magnificat

If you are planning to visit Oxford, you may find our Guide to Oxford helpful. Those with a devotion to St Thomas More might visit this guidebook to Thomas More's England.
